Problem is Nashville isn’t exactly in a bad cap spot so is there any indication they are actually trying to trade him?

I wonder what the Pens would actually have to give up. I can't imagine much, but I wonder if a number of teams will be after this cap relief.

I've been reading more about the coming draft and it really is sounding more and more like a weak draft. Scouts/Writers seem to even be cooling off on Wright a bit compared to how highly everyone spoke of him previously.

If the Pens can trade their 1st for anything significant they should do it without hesitation. I don't even think they can get a Poulin-level prospect at this point.

My take more and more is that you have a pretty good idea of how good of prospects the first three or five guys are and then after that no one knows Richard.

I'm not trying to nitpick, but it's not quite that black and white. While yeah, you probably on average know upwards of five-ish players that have high likelihood of being GOOD NHL players, but the remaining players in that round can still be more highly projected/higher quality than the remaining players in other drafts. I think it was two years ago where the quality of the draft was so deep in quality prospects and they felt the first two rounds could go either way after the top picks, but not because they were weak.

I can't help but feel like a lot of the players we'd like to see moved Hex likes and doesn't want to move at all haha.. Hope I'm wrong...

As for the idea this blog proposes.. Why not, right?

I think he likes Dumo and McGinn, but I think he'd move Zucker if he had the chance.

That’s nice and all but it doesn’t matter because Lidstrom is the greatest defenseman of all time.

I'd actually take Bourque over him.
Doesn't matter, as Randy Jones is the GOAT.

But honestly, Makar does have some of that Orr in him in the way that he makes it looks effortless to basically skate through and entire team on and end-to-end rush.

The lazy part is not doing to minimal leg work to come up with the list of players that have similar buyout scenarios to Myers.

After last night near decapitation of Palat, is it time to consider putting in the Trouba Rule? Any hit to the head, no matter the point of contact, it is a penalty and a suspension?

This is the fifth time in these playoffs he tried to serious hurt someone. He already knock Crosby and Jarvis out of their game and tried to do it to Guentzel and Domi. I would prefer not putting in a rule like this but his chicken winging has to stop or will that only happen when he tries and does it to McDavid?

Forget about Trouba, this should be a thing no matter what. That said, it would be very tricky. There would have to be caveats that would become subjective in the way interference calls can be.

If a player gets hit without the head being the first point of contact, but ultimately gets hit in the head from a completely clean hit either because of the way he fell or some other situational thing you can't predict, then what do you do?

That's just one question of many when you make a rule like that. I'm not trying to disagree with it, because I do agree with it conceptually, but it's very complicated. You need to figure out a way to do this without removing the physicality. The hope would be players would find a way to change the way they hit without stopping the hitting... ja feel?

It is getting a bit much. I’m a firm believer that legit head hunters are rare and was willing to give Trouba the benefit of the doubt ok Sid with he was trying to hit hard and lost control of himself but it’s been like four blatant attempts in a very short period of time.

The chicken wing poop he hit Crosby with should be an automatic suspension. There was no reason for it.

Oh totally. I was just opining on the idea that any and all head hits should be an automatic penalty.

I'm not against that at all. Like you mentioned, implementing it could be tricky.
